    About us

    Wildfire detection that works everywhere

HUVI.SWISS develops autonomous, AI-based systems for the early detection of wildfires. Our goal is to protect forests, communities and critical infrastructure by detecting smoke and emerging fires at their earliest stage. Our technology combines cameras with edge AI, classical image analysis, energy autonomy and reliable data transmission into a fully autonomous early warning system that works reliably even in remote regions without existing infrastructure.

    Our story

HUVI.SWISS grew out of a long-standing collaboration between Christian Huber and Patrick Villiger. A technically demanding project turned into a clear vision: wildfire detection that works everywhere, energy-autonomous, reliable and scalable. The company was founded in 2025 and is headquartered in Kölliken, Switzerland.

    Partnerships and funding

In June 2025, HUVI.SWISS received a positive assessment in the Innosuisse Innocheck, in collaboration with the Switzerland Innovation Park Biel/Bienne (SIPBB). Since December 2025, this collaboration has been extended by the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW). This support strengthens the development of our autonomous wildfire early warning systems and forms the basis for hardware prototypes and research partnerships.

    Our ambition

We combine scientific precision, robust hardware and sustainable energy supply into a solution that works locally and scales globally: Swiss technology for reliable wildfire detection that fits into existing infrastructure and works just as well where power and networks are missing.

    Projects

    Validated under real conditions

From the first smoke to incident command: this is how HUVI.SWISS works in the field.

    01

    Detect

Cameras and classical image analysis scan the terrain for smoke around the clock.

    02

    Verify

Edge AI confirms the suspicion on site and reduces false alarms.

    03

    Report

Position, time and image are sent to HUVI.FIREWATCH via satellite or mobile network.

    04

    Alert

Incident command receives the alert via dashboard, API or SMS.

    Scaling early detection together.

HUVI.SWISS is looking for investors and strategic partners to build autonomous wildfire early detection internationally with us.

    Growing need

Wildfires are increasing with climate extremes. Early detection is among the most effective measures, yet it is still missing in many regions.

    Autonomous technology

Cameras, edge AI and their own power supply detect smoke even where there is neither electricity nor network.

    Scalable model

Detection as a Service: hardware, operation and maintenance from a single source, from a single site to area-wide monitoring.

    FAQ

    Frequently asked questions

Your question is not listed? Write to us, we usually reply within 24 hours.

What is HUVI.SWISS and what is the system used for?

HUVI.SWISS develops autonomous, AI-based early warning systems for wildfire detection. Our technology detects smoke and emerging fires at a very early stage, enabling a fast response before a fire spreads over a large area.

How does HUVI.SWISS differ from existing wildfire monitoring systems?

Unlike conventional camera systems, satellite data or cloud-based solutions, HUVI.SWISS works fully autonomously and analyses image data on site using edge AI. This makes the system independent of the power grid, mobile network or cloud infrastructure and particularly suitable, though not only, for remote regions.

How early does the system detect smoke and wildfires?

The HUVI.SWISS system usually detects smoke within less than 60 seconds after visible smoke patterns appear. Local AI verification reduces false alarms, and only relevant events are forwarded.

Does the HUVI.SWISS system also work at night?

Yes. The HUVI.SWISS system is designed for continuous 24/7 operation and monitors its surroundings without interruption, regardless of the time of day or infrastructure. The HUVI.GUARDIAN units operate fully autonomously and remain ready for use at all times.

Does HUVI.SWISS need an internet or power connection?

No. HUVI.GUARDIAN is designed to be fully off-grid. Power is supplied by solar panels and battery storage, optionally supplemented by wind energy. Alerts are transmitted via satellite communication, so operation is possible even without existing infrastructure.

How large is the coverage of a HUVI.GUARDIAN system?

Depending on topography and location, a single HUVI.GUARDIAN unit can monitor an area of more than 300 square kilometres. Several units can be combined into a scalable monitoring network.

How are alerts triggered and forwarded?

When smoke detection is confirmed, the system automatically triggers an alert. It contains the GPS position, a time stamp and image data, can be viewed in HUVI.FIREWATCH and forwarded via web dashboard, API or SMS to incident command, authorities or infrastructure operators. Alerting and escalation can be configured per site, so emergency services can respond quickly and in a targeted way.

Is the HUVI.SWISS system modular and adaptable to different sites?

Yes. The HUVI.SWISS system has a modular design and can be flexibly adapted to different requirements and locations. Monitoring unit, power supply and system configuration can be scaled accordingly, from partial monitoring of individual zones to large-area applications. Alternative energy sources or extended solar capacity are also possible, making the system suitable for both simple and complex scenarios.

Who is the HUVI.SWISS system particularly suited for?

HUVI.SWISS is aimed at authorities, forestry operations, energy suppliers, infrastructure operators and large landowners such as plantation operators or agricultural companies with an increased wildfire risk. The system is particularly suited to regions where conventional monitoring solutions reach their limits. In principle, HUVI.SWISS is suitable for any organisation or owner who wants to protect forests, infrastructure or critical areas early and reliably.
